Recommended Wellness Care

We recommend the following wellness and preventative care for all pets. Please bring your previous veterinary records with you to your appointment. If you’re unsure about what your pet needs, simply book an appointment and we can advise you at that time. Book an appointment online here.

Payment is required at the time of service by cash, credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Our current pricing and recommended wellness plans are below, so you may estimate your costs for services in advance.

We provide affordable, non-emergency, basic care. We can not manage patients with ongoing chronic health conditions or treat behavioral issues, cancer, injuries, or parvovirus. We do not provide nail trims, anal gland expression, major trauma, or emergency care.


All Pets

Appointment - $20

Microchips - $14 | Recommended for every pet to help them return home if they are ever lost; microchips are the number one way pets are reunited with their families. Read more about microchips here. Our microchips come with a free, lifetime registration.


Dogs

Core Vaccines

Rabies - $10 | All pets must have a rabies vaccine per state law. Puppies must be at least 14 weeks old. Rabies vaccines are needed once per year, then every three years.

DHLPP - $15 | Prevents distemper, leptospirosis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and two types of adenovirus (hepatitis). Puppies will need to receive the three-part vaccine at 8, 12, and 16 weeks, one year later, and then 1 to 3 years after that. Adult dogs will need an initial vaccine followed by a booster 2 - 4 weeks later.

Optional Vaccines

Bordetella - $10 | Necessary for dogs who are frequently exposed to other dogs in boarding or social settings. Examples include: dog day care centers, boarding kennels, and dog parks. Boarding kennels typically require a bordetella vaccine. It can be given as early as 6 weeks old.

Leptospirosis: $15 | Highly recommended for any dog that commonly goes outside, even just to go to the bathroom in the backyard. Leptospira bacteria are carried by wildlife and can be transmitted to pets or people. The Lepto vaccine can be combined with the DHPP vaccine for $15 (listed above) or given separately for $15. It requires a booster given 2-4 weeks after the first shot.

Testing & Prevention

Heartworm Test - $15| Heartworms are dangerous parasites that can cause serious illness and death in untreated cases. Heartworms are endemic in Ohio and spread through the bite of a mosquito. They can be prevented with medication that your puppy should start when they are 8 weeks old and continue throughout their life. If your dog is over 6 months old, a negative test is required before starting prevention. 

Heartworm prevention - cost varies by medication and weight. | Prevention must be given monthly following a negative heartworm test. If not, a new negative test is required before restarting prevention. We carry Revolt and Milbeguard but can approve the prevention of your choice to be delivered through Chewy.

Flea, Tick, and Ear Mite Prevention - cost varies by weight | We recommend monthly flea prevention for all dogs. We carry two options. Revolt and Provecta. Revolt prevents ticks, ear mites, and heartworms. Provecta prevents only fleas and ticks. If you prefer a different flea prevention, we can prescribe it through Chewy so it can be delivered to you.


Cats

Core Vaccines

Rabies - $10 | All pets must have a rabies vaccine per state law. Your kitten must be at least 16 weeks old. Rabies vaccines are needed once per year.

FVRCP - $10 | Protects against many common feline respiratory viruses, including Feline viral rhinotracheitis, Feline calicivirus, and Feline panleukopenia. The first FVRCP vaccine for kittens is typically given at about 6 to 8 weeks of age, with boosters every three to four weeks until a cat is about 16 weeks old. For adult cats, an initial vaccine must be followed by a booster given 2-4 weeks later. FVRCP vaccines are needed yearly.

Testing & Prevention

FeLV/FIV Test - $26| This blood test is recommended for all cats to test for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. 

Flea, Tick, and Ear Mite Prevention - cost varies by weight | We recommend a monthly flea prevention for any cats who are indoor/outdoor or share a home with pets who go outside. We carry Revolt, which also prevents ticks, ear mites, heartworms, and other intestinal worms. If you prefer a different flea prevention, we can prescribe it through Chewy so it can be delivered to you.
